1. Who we are
Ascent2Digital Pty Limited (“Ascent2Digital”, “we”, “our”, “us”) is a boutique advisory firm registered in Australia, with operating hubs in London (United Kingdom) and Brisbane (Australia). We work with boards, executives, and operating teams on AI strategy, governance, enablement, and execution.
We are committed to protecting the privacy of every individual whose personal information we hold. We are bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and, where applicable, the UK Data Protection Act 2018 and the EU General Data Protection Regulation.
2. What information we collect
We collect personal information that is reasonably necessary for, or directly related to, our business activities. In practice this is:
- Information you give us directly — your name, email address, telephone number, company, and role, when you contact us through our website, by email, at an event, or in the course of an engagement.
- Information from your engagement — meeting notes, correspondence, and business-context information shared with us by you or your team during the course of an engagement, used solely to deliver that engagement.
- Information from your visit to our website — basic technical information such as approximate location (city level), browser type, referring URL, and pages viewed. This is collected for security and to understand which content is useful.
- Publicly available information — including LinkedIn profile information and publicly published professional biographies, used in the ordinary course of business development.
We do not knowingly collect any “sensitive information” (as defined in the Privacy Act) — including health, racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, or religious beliefs — and ask that you do not share such information with us.
3. How we use your information
We use personal information for the following purposes:
- To respond to enquiries you have made through our website or other channels.
- To deliver, manage, and improve the services you or your organisation has engaged us to provide.
- To send occasional communications about our work, insights, or events — only where you have asked to receive them, or where we have a pre-existing professional relationship and you have not opted out.
- To meet our legal, regulatory, and professional obligations, including record-keeping under Australian tax and corporate law.
- To protect our website and systems from unauthorised access or abuse.
We do not use personal information for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects on individuals.
4. Who we share your information with
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We share it only in these limited circumstances:
- Trusted service providers — including our email provider, website host, document storage, and the productivity tools we use to run our business. These providers act on our instructions and are contractually required to protect your information.
- Within an engagement — where you have engaged us as part of a wider project team, we may share information with other authorised members of that team to deliver the engagement.
- Legal and regulatory requirements — where required by Australian law, court order, or a regulatory authority with jurisdiction over our business.
- Business transitions — in the unlikely event of a merger, acquisition, or restructuring of Ascent2Digital, with notice provided to you where the law permits.
5. International transfers
Because we operate from both Australia and the United Kingdom, and use cloud-hosted business tools, personal information we hold may be processed in Australia, the United Kingdom, the European Union, or other jurisdictions where our service providers operate (typically the United States). Wherever your information is processed, we require our providers to apply protections substantially equivalent to those required under Australian law.
6. How we hold and protect information
We store personal information in encrypted cloud-hosted business systems with access controls limited to authorised personnel. We retain information only for as long as is necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, or as required by law — typically seven years for engagement-related correspondence, in line with Australian record-keeping obligations.
We take reasonable steps to protect information from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification, and disclosure — including using reputable cloud providers, enforcing multi-factor authentication, and regularly reviewing our security practices. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat security as a continuing professional obligation.
7. Your rights
Under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct any information that is inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date.
- Withdraw consent for any future communications at any time, by emailing us at the address below.
- Make a complaint about the handling of your personal information, first to us and — if you are not satisfied with our response — to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
We aim to respond to access and correction requests within 30 days. We do not charge for reasonable access or correction requests.
8. Cookies and analytics
Our website does not currently use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking. We may use a privacy-respecting analytics tool (such as Plausible or Fathom) which collects only aggregate, anonymised usage information and does not place tracking cookies. If this changes in future, we will update this policy and provide appropriate notice and controls.
9. Children
Our services are directed at organisations and the executives within them. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 16. If you believe we have inadvertently done so, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
10. Updates to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. The “last updated” date at the top of this page reflects when the policy was last revised. Where we make material changes, we will provide reasonable notice through the website or, where appropriate, by direct communication.
